I almost feel like I’m one of the shorter kids at my school. So many people are reaching 6ft and above.

seems the average height for men in the USA at least is 5'9, so 5'11 is definitely above average. I'm 6'2 and everyone always mentions that I'm tall and I feel like I tower over the majority of people that I meet.

I know 5 ft 9 is the average but that’s including all men in the older gen. I feel like the younger gen has gotten much taller. So many kids i know in my high school are above 6ft.

At least in America I'd say it's probably slightly above average for young white guys today. I know the overall US average is 5'9'' but that includes non-whites who are typically shorter and make up 40% of the population so that's bound to have an effect.

Speaking from the experience of someone who is 6'4'', very few people around are taller than me but very few feel truly 'short' as well, if I had to guess average would be like 5'10''.

Bit above average nationally here. Probably average right where I live.

5'11 is just on the upper end of average. Be content with what you've got. It's the tall equivalent of 5'7. 2 inches from the average on both counts.

Nah youre good. Anything from 5'7-6'0 is fine for a male.

That 5'9" figure also includes all of the Asians and Latinos who are usually a lot shorter than whites and blacks and bring the average down. Depending where you live you might not see many of them either so it doesn't seem like everyone is that short.
