I am posting pictures of 9 groups of French exchange students from 9 different city/regions. Please classify and see if you can match the students with their home regions. Each group is from a different city or region. Here is the list of the city/region:

(South West) Nouvelle-Aquitaine
(North) Paris, Île-de-France
(West) Saumur, Pays de la Loire
(East) Strasbourg, Grand Est
(South) Provence
(East/Burgundy) Besançon, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
(North) Hauts de France
(South) Occitanie
(North West) Brest, Brittany

And here are the pictures (in random order):

It's very sad how in many western European countries, it is getting more and more common to find less racial uniformity in crowd pictures (and particularly in student pictures) and getting more and more common to see some blacks and other racially non-Euro people here and there :(

The crowd from Strasbourg look more Germanic than the rest, but apart from that they all look pretty similar. Either way, aside from the Strasbourg group, they are noticeably more brunette than Brits.

France is by some distance the most multiethnic country in Europe - even more so than Britain. Still, nowhere in the West compares to the US in that respect.

Not sure if that would apply to France. It looks like if the French political class is doing their best to make sure that France turns into being as much multiethnic as US, or even more.

And large areas of US still remain overwhemly white and very racially uniform.

Only some very rural states in the Midwest are 90% or so White. And keep in mind that the US was multiracial from the start - in fact, upon independence Blacks were around 20% of the national population, which was even higher than now.

The Northwest (states of Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon) are overwhelmly white, many inner Californian regions out of the big cities are mostly white. And same for the western states of Utah, Colorado and Wyoming

In the east coast West Virginia, New England states (Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut), most of Pennsylvania and New York (out of the large urban agglomerations), North and Western parts of Virginia, North and South Carolina states are overwhemly white. Tennessee and Kentucky states are also mostly white.

Even some large cities of the Northwest and in New England (like Seattle, Whashington, and Boston, Massachussets) are at least70% Euro or more. Most of Pennsylvania out of Philadelphia and Harrisburg is very majority white, and most of New York state outside New York city is very white.

Is not only very rural states in the Midwest.

We all know that US since the beginning has been more multiethnic than Europe, nobody is saying otherwise. I just saying that US also has very uniformly highly Euro areas, and is not all a messed melting pot, as some people make it out to be.

Well Smeagol and some other White Nationalists love to brag about how the US was allegedly 90% White for most of its history, when the truth is that Blacks were around 20% of the national population upon independence, and even with the mass Euro migrations of the 19th and early 20th centuries they fluctuated between 10-15% of the population (as they still do even today).

The US, like Brazil, had an anti-Black immigration policy. However, the Brazilian intentions were more outwardly exposed.

And because Brazil favoured miscegenation - or at least was somewhat 'neutral' about it - it was less successful in keeping its population majority White. (No, I am not saying that whitening policies of any sort are good. Just saying how it is).

Brazil was never majority White (only on the census). But anti-Black immigration policies helped to reduce the African genetic presence in Brazil as a whole.

Brazil indeed was majority White between 1900 and 1960, in some places of the country most of the population was European-born or of recent extract. In the last 60-70 years most of these people had married with Colonial or mixed Brazilians + fertility rates decreased among whites due to improved life conditions and increased among blacks.

My Italian great-grandparents all had more than 10 children after arriving in Brazil.

It is true that US must have been at least as much as 80% white, if not more, in the past. I was checking the racial census from various US states and cities, and in many cases their white populations were a larger percentage in the past than nowadays.

Yes, but most of the increase in non-Whites is due to Asians and in particular Hispanics, whereas Blacks are per capita no more numerous now than they were in most of US history, with the main difference that they are more evenly distributed throughout the country than they were prior to the Great Migration from the South to the North.

It was between 85-90% white from 1860 - 1970.

And yes France is with UK the most multicultural country by miles. Here we have a lot of "banlieues" full of africans people, not only in Paris but in all the country.

We have the most muslims in Europe also.

What do you see in these groups make them standout, besides the obvious (e.g. Paris has more non-native French)?
