AncestryDNA, Myheritage or FTDNA?

23andme in general, of these ones you talk about probably Ancestry. But we may point that MyHeritage is promising a big update on their services and their methods will probably be equal or even better than 23andme.

I have heard 23andme V5 chip gives the worst data. I had V5 kit and I converted it to V3.

A friend of mine wants to do an ancestry test and I don't know which one to prpose him. I consider 23andme good but it gives bad raw data and the site I used to convert my kit to V3 does not work anymore.

depends on what you want to do with the raw data

Gedmatch and maybe G25 coordinates.

then ancestry. ancestry has 150k snps in eurogenes k15, ftdna 70k (my heritage is probably the same), and 23andme v5 has 50 k

23andMe gives bad raw data, don't know what that guy is talking about. At the moment, its AncestryDNA like another user said.

Ancestry and MyHeritage are pretty much equal in terms of raw data, but MyHeritage is slightly better. Their in-house calculator sucks ass though.

you tested on myheritage?

The kits of this year (both MH and FTDNA) use only 77-78k SNPs for Eurogenes (as an example).

Yes

Damn, I always forget about this. Anyone who read my comment above just ignore what I said about MH. Ancestry is the better one atm.

So Ancestry is the last company with good raw data for our stone age calculators? Living DNA kits also use only about 130000 SNPs.

that isn't even that bad. than it's the second best after ancestry.

the maximum in k15 is 180k and in k36 it's around 160

How many SNPs does MyHeritage use?

The raw data wouldn't only be used for our stone age calculators, but for G25 as well.

How many SNPs does MyHeritage use?

The raw data I have uses 174870 SNPs in Eurogenes K13, compared to 170479 from Ancestry. But as Leto said, they reduced the number of SNPs to around 70-80k following the implementation of new chips (I tested around 1.5 years ago there). Same with FTDNA.
