It's a dimensionality reduction method, like PCA. But unlike PCA, it preserves the neighborhood of the data points better. People should stop using PCA for DNA samples clustering.

This code only does the scaling so that it can place your datapoint on that chart.
It doesn't tell me how the original dimensions were reduced to place the initial datapoints on the chart.
