View Full Version : Has anyone else tested on MyHeritage using both the raw data upload and the testing kit?

And if so, were your results also wildly different using both methods? The raw data upload using 23andme's data seemed (by far) more accurate for me. Is this normal, or something anyone else has experienced?

Both the upload and testing kit were very similiar to me at least though my upload has like 25% less matches.

Good question, looking forward to seeing more responses.

Has anyone from Europe (not UK) seen 23andme at a discount? Because I did only Myheritage and I am interested in getting 23andme but not at 99 Euros.

I did the upload and test and they both were inaccurate (but similar to each other) and very different from my 23andme (which is the best service for me). Ancestry was terrible for my family and I too.

[QUOTE = WeirdLookingFellow; 6254435] Виждал ли е някой от Европа (не Великобритания) 23andme с отстъпка? Защото направих само Myheritage и се интересувам от получаване на 23andme, но не и на 99 евро. [/ QUOTE]

now it's at $ 79

Thanks to everyone who responded. :) The user vbnetkhio kindly explained to me via PM that it's likely because MyHeritage recently switched genotyping chips and that's probably what's causing the anomaly. Still, my raw upload results (58% Irish/Scottish/Welsh, 21% English, 20% Scandinavian, 1% Finnish) seem much more in line with my known ancestry than the absurd test results I got back from the actual standalone kit (46% Irish/Scottish/Welsh, 42% Scandinavian (??), 8% North & West European, 3% Finnish, 1% Italian). I feel like everyone I've ever known gets a trace amount of Finnish on this test anyways, so the results are probably worth taking with a grain of salt.

Both were very similar to me, only 1% difference in 1 component.

I uploaded for free back in 2018 using the FTDNA data. Don't know if it would be significantly different if I bought a kit but obviously I won't buy it.

I uploaded to MyHeritage twice and got somewhat different results, but they had the same format (i.e. ¾ English, ¼ Mediterranean/Levantine).
