Because Romanians are supposed to be more Med than heavily Slavic mixed Moldavians. So Romanians should have more variety in their Med types as compared to Moldova. If that makes sense.

With a paler skin tone he would be quite typical for ethnic moldovans. Features wise he fits very well.
