Participants in the Carnival of Aalst have released carnival ribbons making fun of UNESCO and Jews for the 2020 edition of the Carnival, after they were condemned for anti-Semitism in 2019.

The mayor of Aalst, Christoph D’Haese, and Alderman Jean-Jacques De Gucht were summoned to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in September 2019, where they had to argue that their previous carnival procession was not anti-Semitic after a carnival group was accused of anti-Semitism for their ‘Sabbatjoor’ (“Sabbath year”) float by Jewish people in Belgium and abroad.

If it had been Muslims then business goes as usual, but making fun of god's chosen people is way too much. I bet Erza Levant and Avi Yemeni are screeching in agony about the whole thing despite them hypocritically support defamation against Muslims. Again, free speech and expression should never be compromised for any, especially not for non-White groups like Jews, Arabs, Blacks and so on. I wonder what had happened to "Black Pete" or "Zwarte Piet" in the Low Countries like the Netherlands and etc?

Most municipalities told them to go fuck themselves. But mainly the big cities have been taken. In Deventer there is currently a scandal as the local left-wing alderman tried to blackmail the Sinterklaas associations into bringing in "sooth Pete" or lose their subsidies but this has caused his whole party to suffer tremendously as people are leaving the party in droves and they are suffering in the local polls.

Het Simon Wiesenthal Centrum vraagt de nieuwe Belgische premier Sophie Wilmès om er bij de Unesco op aan te dringen om het carnaval van Aalst van de lijst van immaterieel cultureel erfgoed te schrappen omdat de organisatoren 'antisemitische clichés' hebben toegestaan.

The famed Belgian Carnival town of Aalst wants to renounce its place on the U.N. cultural heritage list, saying it is sick of widespread complaints that this spring’s edition contained blatant anti-Semitism.

Town officials say the float objected to, with stereotypical depictions of hook-nosed Jews sitting on piles of money, was trying to make a joke and they contend no one should try to muzzle humor of any kind during the three-day Carnival.

Aalst mayor Christoph D’Haese said Sunday that city officials “have had it a bit with the grotesque complaints and Aalst will renounce its UNESCO recognition.”

Has something like this ever happened before ? I actually think that Western countries should leave the UN altogether and set up a new League of Nations once we have dealt with the issue.
