I looked through my FTDNA matches for names that seem Scandinavian . That gave me 3.39% Scandinavian . I would say the largest amount are in the 5th to distant cousin category .
I think chr7 is very much a 'Scandinavian' region for me . 23andMe has chr 7 as partly Scandinavian . Both FTDNA and My heritage have Scandinavian matches on chr 7 that are on my mother's side.
Chr 9 has Scandinavian on my father's side, but the large ICW of those matches suggests a pile up . Also the large cluster I get on Genetic affairs with some of those Scandinavian matches (2x+ > than the next largest cluster )
With FTDNA data using settings 150 total cMs lowest possible to match 25cMs smallest segment 8cMS at Genetic affairs.
I get a cluster of 6 . With 3 Scandinavian surnames & 1 Scandinavian surname but slightly more English than Scandinavian,
According to My Heritage: Wij(S) only Scandinavian in common , DÖ(S) Scandinavian and Finnish, Hal(S) Only Scandinavian in common , B0(English with a little less S) English,Scandinavian and Finnish in common . These are on Chr 7.
Only thing common to those 4 is Scandinavian.
