I think people are somewhat mislead by the children in the picture. Romanian kids are mostly light haired and quite eastern looking. But that goes away by they time they finish the high school, when they become rather balkan/med looking.

I think people are somewhat mislead by the children in the picture. Romanian kids are mostly light haired and quite eastern looking. But that goes away by they time they finish the high school, when they become rather balkan/med looking.

most kids at my daughter's kindergarten are blond indeed, including a few that are white-blond - maybe only these will be blond adults, the others will be just brown haired (I was a blond kid too, not light brown or whatever, but brown haired as adult, as most people on this latitude)

I'd argue the woman with the cross from ixulescu from the left doesn't look foreign. Yes as a group they look somewhat familiar but clearly more Eastern European. As Seya said, individually most pass in Moldova.

Well, there are differences between each region in Romania, let alone between Romania and Republic of Moldova. Groups from opposite ends of the country could look like they belong to two different countries. As a group, people in OP look like what they are to me, Moldovans from the Republic. :)
