View Full Version : Were you blond/blonde in your childhood?

I have never been blonde even in my early childhood period, i have always had brown hair. But i see some people who have darker hair color than me claim that they were blonde in their childhood. Is it possible?

My hair color when i was 1,5 years old:

It didn’t change when i became an adult:

What about you, were you blonde in your childhood but not anymore?

I had deep blue eyes as a baby, very blonde straight hair (like Russians have) and very very long eyelashes as a baby. Now it’s changed to dark brown eyes, thick dark brown matte wavy hair and eyelashes still long/black but not as in childhood.

Nope. It was lighter brown until I was around 2 or 3, but for as long as I can remember I've always had very dark brown hair. Eyes changed from blue to green though.

Yes, reddish blonde until age of 5 then got darker hair gradually.

Probably in some people genes for darker hair activate earlier and in some people never or they don't have it.

As far as I remember I have both genes for blue and brown eyes in dna result, this is probably related with that.

I was a towhead as a kid. It got progressively darker. I would say I'm dirty blond/light brown now and have been since my teens.

But it is absolutely possible for blond children to become brunet adults. I'm guessing that's more common in populations where blondism survives into adulthood. It seems less likely in uniformly dark-haired groups.

Like Väinämöinen I was born as a fully mature person. As a sign of this maturity when I was born my hair was blond. Blond hair reminds us of old people, as this is the color most of us get when we reach very old age. It is therefore a sign of wisdom and regality. Gandalfs hair was grey because his soul was down to earth, and he wanted to hid his true regality, and work in the shadows. But when the final battle closed in, Gandalf went supersayian, he did not need to hid his true nature and wisdom anymore.
As was said, I was born with maturity and calm and wisdom. I never cried or caused trouble, I was kind and considerete. According to my mother I was the perfect baby. Now, I will admit, that the wicked World has left its marks on me, and nowadays my character flaws are a-plenty, and my hair is the color of a rat, but as a baby my soul was pure, and old.

What can I say. I lost my golden hair. I lost my maturity and wisdom, and mongoloid eyes. And now as the sun and the moon are together at the sky, all that is left is smoke from those burnt memories lingering at the ruins, with barely enough warmth to keep my hands warm. But as the ashen-dust rains quietly over the mountains, it feels good to warm my hands at the ashes of my memories, and know, that you read my bullshit, and your butt is hurting as hell, because in your petty heart you know, that all that I wrote is 100 PERCENT FACT

Nope I had Medium Brown hair.
My eldest brother had dirty blonde hair until he was 5 or so (until he entered first grade).
My other brother had medium-light brown hair.

My dad had lightest brown as a kid, my mom had copper/strawberry blonde (some of her aunts and uncles from both sides had platinum blonde).
My maternal grandmother said she had red hair until she was 9 or so but no pictures of her prior to 14 so I don't know whether this is true or not (her uncle was a redhead so theoretically it's possible).

My mom has dirty blonde hair (platinum when she was a baby), and my dad has always had dark brown, almost black hair.
I had honey blonde hair for the first 2 years of my life, and then it started to become dark. I now have dark brown hair.
My brother had platinum blonde hair up until around 5-6, when it started becoming darker. He now has light brown, not quite blonde, hair.

Genetics are weird.

Until the age of 5, my hair was dirty blonde and now dark brown.

But I already have abnormal hair, it looks lighter in the sun than it should be. It turns very light brown. Likewise, my beards turn red. But normally it is quite dark.

What about you, were you blonde in your childhood but not anymore?

When I was a child I had golden blond hair until I was around 6 years old since then my hair darkened till I was 15 becoming almost completely black.
At least my facial and body hair is still ginger and it probably will be that way until I'll start to become grey.

Kosovo?

A foot patrol around a little Serbian inclave, inside Kosovo. Still it was not "independent", just after the war and after the NATO bombardments.

Some of us had a radioactivity counter on us (a small card around the neck, or in a pocket that had to be carried for several days), because in the patrol areas we could find NATO DU ammunition and there were doubts as to whether that still had effects on health.

Your actual hair is chesnut, like me.

Your actual eyes color is kind of amber-chesnut, in the French taxonomy.

As for the taxonomy of colors, the Anglo-Saxon taxonomy is very poor and deny the actual shades of colors which is possible to exist. So there is not just one type of "brown" eye, but subtypes. Then there is not only one brown hair color, but several types of shades.

It suffices to look at the physical descriptions on the French military individual files (from the 19th century) to see that the classification of the color is not simplistic, unlike the Anglo-Saxon taxonomy which is binary (light or dark, brown or blue).

Not at all, I had dark brown/nearly black hair - even as a baby.
Probably I have to blame my non-white ancestry for that.

My father's side is fully European however, and he had blond hair as a child that became dark brown gradually.

As a baby I had a full head of black hair, I came out of uterus this way, I almost had mullets, but then after some months it gradually fell, by the time I was two years old my hair was golden blond, nowadays it is darker of course.I wonder If any of you folks had a similar case.

I used to have a dark brown hair when i was born, when i turned 13 years old the hair turns to a very dark, almost black hair..

Idk if being born with a lighter hair it is related to Europeans, many mixed people have lighter hair when they are younger, sometimes they have lighter hair than many Europeans even. I have known some pardos that were almost blonde when they were younger.

I've always been the same - dark brown hair and light brown eyes with white skin without a pink tint.
My son's hair is lighter than mine, and his eyes are dark gray - I've got a quite light wife (by southern Russian standards). The son should look for a brunette wife so that our noble kind of brunettes (on the paternal side) is not interrupted:D.

As a child: Very dark brown
As an adult: Pretty much black

So very little change which is not surprising for wogs/non-Europeans.

I wish I could say no. Unfortunately I had very light hairs until I was, I don’t know something around 15. Turks shouldn’t have blond hairs, but suddenly I became a wog, thank God I don’t need to be afraid that people could steal me: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?375379-Should-we-allow-Balkan-people-to-steal-blond-Turkish-children

I am thinking about dying my hairs, they aren’t dark enough, I want to look like Berlusconi.

Lol, you are truly an exception. Most people on here want to be as light as possible.

Black hair already in childhood = ultimate sign of woggyness

I blame my Amerindian genes for that...

I was born with strawberry blonde hair, it even says that color on my birth certificate. It turned nearly white when I turned 2, and was very light until I hit puberty, then it turned more of a medium blonde. As I've gotten older it is a much lighter blonde again. My hair has pretty much every shade of blonde and some red in it. My blonde hair comes from my paternal (Spanish) side. My grandparents had 5 kids. Each kid had a different hair color; black, brown, red, blonde, and strawberry blonde.

When I was a child I had brown hair (medium-light) and now it's a dark brown. This happens also happened to a Romanian friend of mine. He used to be blond (even with green eyes) and now he has light brown hair (with hazel eyes).

I had a sandy blond hair colour until the age of seven or so when it turned brown. Although some Swedes don't think it qualifies as blond. I guess it is dark for Swedish/Nordic children's standards (some who are ash blond in adulthood have white hair until adolescence).

Yes, I was but darkened considerably to a slightly reddish dark brown with a red beard. So basically I went through all hair colours in my life. White comes up next.
