I just don't see how you could have a high genetic closeness to Serbia, Croatia, and Macedonia at the same time as not being close to Bulgarian.

Because he clearly appears as having a larger similarity with Croatia and might not be full Balkan, lol. Bulgarians are more between Romanians and Greeks and less so like Serbs.

It is suspicious that he could be so close to Macedonian and at the same time so distant to Bulgarian.

Macedonians are essentially Bulgarians genetically though no?
