Which Gedmatch admixture calculator do you consider the best to know the ancestry from HG, EEF or Steppe we have ?

I'm French but the different calculators show I have a very high WHG ancestry (more than 50%), and a low EEF (~35-45%). According to Eupedia, French are more than ~ 25% WHG + 60% EEF.

Are the calculators wrong ? Or is it beacause EEF and Steppe have already signifiant WHG admixture ?

And I'm so sorry for my bad English !

Get your G25 coordinates, it much better than old "Gedmatch", that are also made up with strange references.

Your results are not surprising, Central and most of the Atlantic facade until the very north like Britanny, Normandy... has a very strong WHG and iberian shift.

I knew that for nordic samples, but I'm mainly from Massif Central and Lyon, so I thought that I had a heavy EEF ancestry. I'ill try G25 to see if results are less strange. Thank you for the link !

Yes, highly recommending G25 on this. When you get your results, Davidski automatically sends you results that show your foundational European makeup:

Distance: 3.7770% / 0.03777020
Aggregated
43.0 Anatolia_Barcin_N
41.4 Yamnaya_RUS_Samara
8.4 WHG

1.0 Han

What about the historical Ile de France population (not the modern one that dwells there) and Grande Est? Are they more Nordic or Med?

For starters post your Eurogenes K13 & K15. It's far from perfect but I'd like to take a look at the results.

Leaning towards North as I've said. There is a roman input in Lorraine though. Those of the Haut de France are very close to Dutch, SE English, East French lean towards W.Germans.

I appreciate what Davidsky did these years, and i agree that gedmatch is very outdated (today the golden standard is GLOBAL25 for sure), but still we haven't a conclusive answer (at least not just one) : once you have your scaled data…..try to run them with the calculator and you will find different (or slightly different) results, according to which reference populations (modern or ancient) you chose.

There are MANY possible results and intepretations : the most brilliant thing is that everyone can try and build his own system...
