As expected, very low Amerindian in a city that was the first Portuguese enclave in the Americas.

The Northeast still has a sizeable amount of predominantly 80-90%+ European individuals, even if in smaller amounts when compared to Southeast/South. But there most of these people are restricted to middle classes and upper classes.

The first guy is likely 97% European, his SSA likely came from his Portuguese ancestors because he's not modeled as part SSA in any GEDmatch oracle, not even 1-2% as happens with some Portuguese like FilhoV.

I have seen a portuguese (born in Portugual from portuguese parents) with 4% on another forum but as other members noticed it's an outlier in that sense.

Yeah, 4% is a lot. But most Portuguese and Spaniards who posted their results here score some minimal amount of SSA beyond the noise level. So when a Brazilian have very low SSA it's very likely to have come from Iberians.

The Romans were responsible even for the SSA in Iberians, I guess most of these things entered Iberia with Roman soldiers from North Africa since Roman period Iberians already had levels similar to the ones they have now.
