Some of them can pass as Serbs and Croatians, still better as Hungarians and Romanians. As Romanians due to more rounded featurs, and as Hungarians something in vibe. Few can pass as Russians easy.

I'll be honest here.

Some of them really do have Turanid features not because of Ottomans but rather because of Bulghar (Dulo's etc..)

It might sound rude for Turanids but Emperor Basil the Bulghar Slayer really saved Moesian people from complete Turkification.

I agree with Pribislav's observations here. The way I see it, compared to Serbian students I encounter, these people are shorter, more infantile in facial features, and have lighter hair.

My mistake I wrote students instead of HS. They are between 17 19 years old hence the more infantile features

They all pass in Romania to varying degrees and I would not call them Hungarian looking because none have that Central European-Germanic vibe. All look either Balkan or E European.

Which dark Bulgarians your talking about? These people are not that light and believe me if I cherry pick Bulgarians I will make them on Ukrainian/Polish level

They can't pass in Croatia as groups at all, very foreign faces. And it is not about coloring, these students are lighter than Romanians in Transylvania I have seen.

We are worlds apart so it not surprise.

These people fit best in Romania and then Hungary, although of course Hungarians on general overlap better with surrounding populations

I taught about Moldova too, but Aspirin already gave his insight. They look ''very eastern'', but not in East Slavic way.

They look eastern European, but not like Russians or Ukrainians although black sea coast of Ukraine probably has lot of overlap with Bulgaria.

Okay, those are in my view Moldovans, some Hungarians, some Ukrainians, some Balkan Turks.
Romanians I saw in west Romania were different, less round-featured and darker. There are some Serb like faces in this group, but they look very different from Serbs overall.

You can't tell me that apart from the one in the middle here, that the rest aren't just plain Bulgarian, just on the darker side. As I said, a combination. Plenty of Romanians have been to Bulgaria and most say that you don't feel like in a different country. If these students were the standard in Bulgaria we would not say that.

And not to say that Romanians are blind, we do not feel very homely in Serbia.

Yeah they are standards, what is so special about them? there are groups in the set, in which everyone have dark hair and maybe eyes.

Is not about pigmentation (Bulgarians can be very light, and I think pigmentation is overrated), but facial features, Bulgarians still have their own vibe.

They fit well in all the options apart from Greece and Turkey. While Bulgarians are definitely among the most brunette and Med-influenced Slavic groups, the difference with Turks and even Greeks is still surprisingly marked.
