although I don't agree that all Mediterranean or non-Northern types must be of "recent" Balkan origin (Vlach) - Cucuteni peoples were very Sardinian-like, for example. there was ancestral living in the region that was Mediterranean, and even farther up north to Poland and Ukraine (Globular Amphora cultura people were Sardinian-like as well).

In terms of features, yes, they are a bit different, even light types have different vibe, in terms of pigmentation not so much.
