Im currently looking for some quality Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish productions to add a little diversity to my film repertoire. If you could name a movie you like and write a small synopsis of it it'll be just great. It could be anything, from comedy to drama, to action or horror. No cheap, low-budget material please.

P.S: I've only watched The girl with the dragon tattoo and Let the right one in; I liked them both and they are the kind of movies I was looking for.

Make sure to watch

Elling (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279064/)

Mors Elling (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368045/)

and Elsk Meg i Morgen (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472767/).

It's the sweetest comedy/drama trilogy (actually Mors Elling should go first in narrative order), about a guy who lives with mom in his 40s (it must be that rare in Norway so as to make a film about it :D).
Elling is socially dysfunctional but an extremely loveable character altogether. So is his friend, who is a giant with the heart (and the brains :D) of a child.

Pretty good watch, if you find them with subtitles, don't miss them!

Naboer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453383/) (Norway)

Dark, claustrophobic and smothering type of psychological thriller. It's excellent nonetheless, suspenseful and strong until the end.

Two beautiful sisters start hitting on their neighbour who has recently broken up with his girlfriend. They seduce him and start manipulating him with mind games. He progressively cannot discern between what is real and what is not...

Just finished watching Rare Exports and Steam of Life:

Rare Exports had good acting, a unique plot and a steady pace: I wasnt bored at all when I was watching it. Ending was meh and the little guy being heroic all of sudden threw me off a bit. Overall I enjoyed it.

Steam of Life: naked men sitting in a sauna talking about a specific episode in their life. Veeery slow paced and a monotonous after a while. The guy and his bear was the most memorable part of the movie.

Going to finish downloading the rest now, looking forward to seeing them when I have time.

Just done watching Dead Snow and Lapland Odyssey:

Dead Snow: one of those bad movies that make you laugh because of how ridiculous they are. The make-up could have been better, same with the gore scenes. I enjoyed the last 30 minutes of the movie, when they start kicking the shit out of the zombies.

Lapland Odyssey: this movie was fucking hilarious, and the main guy delivered a strong performance of a desperated man trying to make things right at least for once. Im keeping this one on my movie folder (not many movies get this privilege!) :thumbs up.

kay well it's nice to see you're interested:cool: though of all skando's danes are the ones people tend to care least about:( , try Applaus, The Green Butchers (awesome comedy), Mifune's sidste sange, Festen, Idioten, Tro, had og kærlighed(I adore Gry Bay), Adam's Apples , The Boss of it All, Nattevagten(really like this one), Babette's Feast, Brothers(with the ever gorgeous Connie Nielsen also her first appearance in a danish film...crazy I know), A Place Nearby, Se Min Kjole, Du er Ikke Alene(a tad homoerotic but tastefully done) & Prag. to name a few :) I'll be back either when I remember more or whatever

Recently (re-)made historical epic, Under the North Star. I can't say I was very pleased, having read the books several times and knowing them from cover to cover. Could be interesting for a foreigner, though.
