Cats are cute on the outside but sneaky devils on the inside. As a cocky person I must say that I identify with cats to large degree. ;)

My high school German teacher (old lady in her 60's with an opinion of just about everything!) said that she likes cats a lot more than dogs. She gave an example: When the house a dog and a cat inhabit is on fire the foolish dog risks it's own life in order to save it's master. Smart cat just jumps out of the window and watches carefully as those beautiful flames slowly consume the house.

They look like angels with dirty faces! Sacred Birmans have a very sweet disposition.
They have large blue eyes, dainty shaped faces and their two-toned smokey shading gives their faces and paws extra definition,
particularly the elegant white 'glove' appearance on the tips of their paws.
They have the gorgeous 2-tone shading of a Siamese combined with the long fur of a Persian,
but their fur doesn't matt much and is easy to look after and groom.

"The Norwegian Forest cat (Norwegian: Norsk skogkatt or Norsk skaukatt) is a breed of domestic cat native to Northern Europe. This natural breed is adapted to a very cold climate, with top coat of glossy, long, water-shedding hairs, and a woolly undercoat for insulation.

Although this is uncertain, the breed's ancestors may have been a landrace of short-haired cats brought to Norway by the Vikings around 1000 AD, who may also have brought with them long-haired cats, like those ancestral to the modern Siberian and Turkish Angora breeds.

During World War II, the breed became nearly extinct until efforts by the Norwegian Forest Cat Club helped the breed by creating an official breeding program. It was registered as a breed with the European Fédération Internationale Féline in the 1970s, when a local cat fancier, Carl-Fredrik Nordane, took notice of the breed and made efforts to register it. Currently, the Norwegian Forest breed is very popular in Norway, Sweden, Iceland and France.

The Norwegian Forest cat is adapted to survive Norway's cold weather. Its ancestors may include black and white shorthair cats brought to Norway from Great Britain sometime after 1000 AD by the Vikings and longhaired cats brought to Norway by Crusaders. These cats could have reproduced with farm and feral stock and might have eventually evolved into the modern-day Norwegian Forest breed.

The Siberian and the Turkish Angora, longhaired cats from Russia and Turkey, respectively, are also possible ancestors of the breed. Norse legends refer to the skogkatt as a "mountain-dwelling fairy cat with an ability to climb sheer rock faces that other cats could not manage." Since the Norwegian Forest cat is a very adept climber, author Claire Bessant believes that the skogkatt folktale could be about the ancestor of the modern Norwegian Forest breed. The name Norse skogkatt is used by some breeder and fancier organisations for the modern breed.

Many people believe that the ancestors the Norwegian Forest cat served as ships' cats (mousers) on Viking ships. The original landrace lived in the Norwegian forests for many centuries, but were later prized for their hunting skills and were used on Norwegian farms, until they were discovered in the early twentieth century by cat enthusiasts."

The Himalayan cat is a long-haired, blue-eyed beauty.
The smallest cat ever recorded was a blue-point Himalayan named 'Tinkertoy' which measured only two and three-quarter inches tall and seven and a half inches long!
The Himalayans are the most popular division of the Persian cats (which themselves are the most popular cat) making Himalayans the most popular feline.
The Himalayans are just like the Persian cats with exception in their colourings which resulted when a Persian was crossed with a Siamese creating the Himalayan.
They have the smooshed-face and long fur of the Persians combined with the luxurious two-tone colouring of a Siamese.
Himalayans have light coloured bodies like Persians, but they have coloured extremities in their points. Himalayans can be seal-point, chocolate-point, lilac-point, blue-point, flame-pointed and cream-pointed.
The Himalayan differs from the similar looking Birman cat in its eye shape, face-shape, and fur length (also a Birman has white gloved tips on its paws).
The fur on a Himalayan cat requires a lot of extra daily grooming to prevent it from matting. Himalayan kittens are born white and their colours appear later.
Their body shape is hidden under a mass of fur on the Himalayans body which gives these cats an unusual appearance resembling ewoks more than cats!

basically the cat it's still a wild predator under a thin layer of civilization; you can put a domestic cat in a forest, and he's able to survive, put a domestic dog in a forest and he starves

Most cats take 6 months to reach maturity, but due to it's larger size, Siberian cats take 5 years to reach full maturity.
Siberian cats are described as 'a mixture between a ballet-dancer and a tiger'.
They have a slight arch to their back when you look at the side of them as their hind legs are slightly longer than their front legs making them very agile.
They're graceful yet strong, with large and soulful eyes that have a slight upturned angle to them which are unique to their breed.
Siberian cats can come in any colour combination, but their coats with have 3 dense layers.

Siberian cats are the best cat for those with allergies to cats due to their saliva having lower allergen proteins in it when they lick their coats.
Siberians shed a lot during the seasons and require a lot of daily grooming care.
