‘Smart’ pedestrian crossing inaugurated in central Athens

Attica Governor Giorgos Patoulis and conservative Euro MP Stelios Kympouropoulos, who is a wheelchair user, Thursday inaugurated the first ‘smart’ pedestrian crossing in central Athens. Regional authorities aim to introduce a total of 200 such crossings across the capital. The new system features phosphorescent lights and transmits sounds and pulsating alarms for the visually impaired people.

Well, already more than one have been built. The first was built in Panathenaic Stadium.

What can you do with that when the pavements are as narrow as your Armenoid leptorhinne nose?
