Well, dinarid isn't that uncommon in South Ukraine, especially mixed with other phetotypes, so yeah, he could pass as Ukrainian.

I know, Dinarid can be found in Ukraine.

Gorid is type which is relatively common in Ukraine (mostly in western part), and it's pretty alien for Russia.
