Asking Dr. Bosniensis is like like asking Dr. Deretic that question.

Your branch of I2a1b among Serbs exist in small %, and it's a trail of medieval Saxon miners https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxons_in_medieval_Serbia

But one Serbian family which carry that clade has a matches in Germany, and they are from area in Serbia where Saxon miners were present in the middle age.

I2a Din and Isles both originated in the area, Saxons are a different branch of I2 largely, possible a few floating around though. Also my branch, exists all over in small numbers. But I2a1b originates in the Balkans regardless, even if they match Saxons doesn't mean they didn't originate there. I2a Isles is found all over Europe.
