Right, tipping is a way for employers to get away with paying their employees less than minimum wage. We always tip, actually, because we know from experience how important it is since my husband worked as a waiter for some years and we know that without it, people are actually getting paid half of what they should be.

Wages are all around bad, though.

Wages are all around bad, though.
Here in Western Europe, we don't tip at all since waiters get paid (at least) minimum wage. Plus - there are unions they can (and do) join.
