Is this typical in Finland? I agree, she looks uralid. She reminds me of one of my cousin's sister, slightly wide nose, chubby cheeks, round face, narrow eyes. But she is still very young.

I was just thinking how hard it is to be exactly one third anything, because none of the integer exponents of two are divisible by three. Basically your family tree cannot be a tree in the graph theoretical sense, but it can only be a directed acyclic graph.

I wish it would be. But unfortunately most Finns look more Nordid.

Maybe one third is not right, but my estimate is based on an experience about countless amount of seen Finns in my life, not on any information about a putative family tree. I have little prejudices, but all this crap seen today in Finnish media about "true Finnish race" is something I don't digest well (I don't mean True Finns party). Skolt, Saami or any other admixtures are equally Finnish. Who we are depends on roots and how we define Finnish in a context of the Finnish history, not on the individual appearance.

We have True Finns, in Sweden they have Svenska Demokraterna etc. The True Finns party and its leader are decent things, but behind these decent nationalists acts a group of narrow-minded young activists whose idea is to define one right Finnish race, the word race underlined.
