I've read that these three thieves (who were captured doing criminal acts in a city of North Italy) are from Reggio Calabria( ancient powerful Magna Graecian city Ῥήγιoν, Rhéghion) the most Greek influenced zone of Calabria ...

Rheggion isn't the most "greek" influenced area of Calabria, Kroton (Crotone) and Sybaris were even more powerful at one period than Rheggion.
Reggio received different type of "non-greek" influx (Byzantines Levantines, Anatolians, Caucasians, Armenians, some Arab in Reggio, Jewish, Levantine from Imperial Roman era...) just like other calabrian regions though on a in individual scale there's lot of variation.
