To demonstrate the Government's deep respect for, and commitment to, habeas corpus and England's proud tradition of democracy and liberty, the Government should announce plans for an English day of celebration and festivities on Wednesday, 12 June, 2015.

"Let England be a beacon to the World".

Oops! And I call myself an English Nationalist

As yesterday was the day, just shy of 800 years ago, that King John sealed the Magna Carta, I thought it would be good to place some links to further your knowledge and understanding of the importance and meaning of the document that underpins English law and history.

Here (http://www.bl.uk/treasures/magnacarta/shockwave/magna_carta_broadband.htm) is a British Library copy of the Magna Carta which can be viewed with or without audio.

Here (http://www.bl.uk/treasures/magnacarta/virtual_curator/vc1.html) is a virtual curator helping to answer some of those more often asked questions concerning the Magna Carta.

No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled . nor will we proceed with force against him . except by the lawful judgement of his equals or by the law of the land. To no one will we sell, to no one deny or delay right or justice.

With out wishing it to become a spastic day of false nationalism, but may I wish you all a happy and fortuitous Magna Carta Day.

The English Magna Carta is the Great Charter of Human Rights and it's an international symbol of human liberty and it's now famous around the world. The Magna Carta is as important to world development as much as the invention of nursing by Florence Nightingale and the Industrial Revolution was very important too.
