Funny how people percieve him as euro looking when all i see is a pashtun bad ass look. I've seen Alot of pashtuns with this look .
geenerally people are familair with urban population of the region that is more common in west , this summer i was trvalleing from KPk to gilgit(Naran-Chilas road) over babusar top,most of the road is above 10000feet and among villagers sitting around and in the region even imran khan would look normal , and people there are kohistanis and gujjars.

I don't even think people aware of how pashtuns even look . I live in one of the most populous city in the world , the mosque I go to has a few afghans /Pak pashtuns. I see a good number that look similar to him . All he needs is a pakol and traditional afghan clothing lol . I agree though , urban pops are always darker than rural pops . Everywhere you go .

Because urban centers attract workers from all sorts of areas so there’s more mixing there. I bet if you were to put him in a 1 to 1 formal test with AASI he would score close to 0. People look at 23andme or Ancestrydna tests which show pashtuns as 50-100% S. Asian and start thinking that pashtuns are very different from W. Asians but they forget that those companies use pashtuns as S. Asian references so they basically force the pashtuns in the test to be 100% S. Asian. This makes all other pashtuns 50-100% S. asian.
That’s why you have to do a 1 to 1 population sharing with AASI such as formal test or IBD with AASI to get true idea of how S. Asian pashtuns are. Even admixture calculators that use true AASI references give better idea of how S. Asian pashtuns are than 23andme or Ancestrydna or some other commercial companies

I agree absolutely. Even in 23andme where Afghanistan and central Asia is under 'south Asia ' , afghans still score between 10-35% west Asia on it.

The dstats for the pashtun _afghan is an average of a few samples from pashtuns within Afghanistan . Yeah I'm surprised as how high russian comes up . Probably due tosteppe?

I noticed Armenian is up there too but the reason kurd is higher is because he has a higher combination of steppe and caucasus and maybe BMAC (Parthian)? Than Armenians. But yeah steppe (Russian).
People should rely less on commercial company and admixture calculator results and more on formal test for a more accurate picture

And this actually reflects within how pashtuns /afghans / south central Asians look. Take me or my family for example. A girl recently told me how afghans and Turks look similar etc etc . Not saying it's true but it conforms with how people perceive afghans ...a west Asian looking group with individuals passing in Europe / and more darker individuals in Pakistan .
