You can deactivate certain fields. I just deactivated age as it wasn't too relevant given how cluttered it gets. Will add my LivingDNA and 23andme files for comparison after work.

I don't like how you have to delete and reupload to update some features instead of the typical refresh option.

You can click civilization closeness to see your overall closeness/similarity to a group/tribe. The only weird thing of this feature is how it determines closeness which may not always match shared SNPs. These are after all segments of DNA as opposed to overall genome, so maybe that is why.

It wants your most up to date raw data. So it forces you to upload it.
In another case someone could upload once and for years uses it.

True. That makes sense. Otherwise why re-upload when it is exactly the same.

True. That makes sense. Otherwise why re-upload when it is exactly the same.

Moreover such re-upload consumes server capacity and transfer. It should be avoided. But it isn't.
So it means main goal of this service is to harvest raw data. And those recently updated, as most people just download file from company website in such case.

You can say DNA.LAND, Yourdnaportal, Geneplaza or whatever needs my uploads. Yes, but only once:)

But you do what you want.

High Dutch = colonial Pennsylvanian German. I have a good amount of English colonial ancestry as well and 5th generation Norwegian. I will post my 23andme soon

EDIT: and yes, both maternal and paternal family is into genealogy, so there is a good amount of paper trails for 3 grandparents. The last was adopted as an infant and we’re finally able to piece together her background with connecting to her matched relatives some.

I found a pair of grandparents on my dad's mom's side from Germany to PA. I know one pair came from Hidelburg and went to Germantown PA in the 2nd year of its existence. They were Quakers. Their daughter married out into a Welsh or Scottish line to get to me. Surname was Tamsen and became Thompsen/Thompson.

There is a lot of that. My Norwegian line changed from Dokken to Docken. And inversely, my surname started out as English, changed into German and back again! It went both ways

I only know of DNAGenics doing any phasing. Not sure how reliable it is, but it seems reasonable sometimes using merged data then phasing for my parents.

You, me, and Xavier should run the K36 (raw) Ancient Individuals and see if we match more in ancient or modern raw K36. Want to try?

Sure! It’ll take two days for DNAgenics to process my raw data.
