They are similar, the Slovaks have more ancestors from Austro Hungarians Empire sometimes, Poles usually have ancestors combination from Austro Hungarians Empire and Russians Empire and then there is other Poles that come from Prussians Empire in north near Baltic Sea

According to MDLP K23b calculator:
Distance to: Pole
2.07593352 Belarusian
2.61807181 Belarusian_South
3.71035039 Russian_Center
3.82328393 Ukrainian
3.83127916 Belarusian_Russian
Distance to: Slovak
3.09569055 Ukrainian_West
3.55382892 Czech
4.50870270 German
5.40788313 Kashub
5.85960750 Slovenian
It supports what Cumansky said. More Russian Empire influence in Poles, and more Austro-H. Empire influence in Slovaks.
