Not a bad idea. Perhaps it's also time for a canal in Germany that links the Elbe to the Weser, Eems and Rhine. And one that links the Rhine to the Meuse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fossa_Eugeniana).

Didn't know that one. Interesting. Now let's make sure that the Czechs can get as far as Rotterdam and Antwerp. So a Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt canal would be wonderful.
