Ismael, Israel are "common" names in Spain.
Of course he does not have Arab ancestry, what a nonsense.

Yeah, but these names are usually for Arabs and Jews or those who have ancestry from either two. But, yeah, he doesn't look MENA at all.

I don't think so, it's the same with me, I have a Russian/Swedish first name, but 0% ancestry from these places.
Having a foreign first name doesn't necessarily mean your have foreign ancestry, many parents simply choose one they like, regardless of origin, regardless of not being related to the name's ethnicity.

Not in Spain. Here we use a lot of Hebrew or biblical names (María, David, José, Juan, these are ultra-common), and many more much less common (Israel, Moisés, Ezequiel, etc).

This happens in every country, not only here.

There are some Arab names as Ismael or Fátima.

They have absolutely nothing to do with ancestry.

Omar is a pretty common name in LatAm wheter you have arab ancestry or not. Names like Jamil for example do belong to latinos with MENA ancestry though.

Not common. "Common" only. From time to time you see Spaniards with such names.

They are not common names, Israel is very rare, and Ismael (of Hebrew origin) according to Wikipedia was not usual until the 70s

No. Names are names, what can indicate an origin in Spain, are surnames. And even surnames are not a clear clue of origins.

Ismael is a name form the Old Testament.
