I saw the other thread with the Venetian results and that person's East med was like 3% higher. I would've presumed there would have been a more downward trend the more north you go.

Emilia-Romagna is one the most southern shifted regions in Northern Italy, but Romagnoli are closer to Tuscan average than anything, I guess he's from Emilia rather than Romagna.

Why you put in bold North Italians+French results?

Why you put in bold North Italians+French results?

I find it more perceptible than Iberians that are closer to Northern Italians or NW Euros that are quite far. French are an average and that's why I put in bold.

Do you have any french results from zones near Italy? Provence-Alpes-Cote D´Azur, Rhone-Alpes, and Languedoc-Rousillon?

Those zones must have and interesting admixture between North Italians, Frenchs and Iberians.

I don't have that much from Rhone Alpes but a guy from Lyon came as half NW Euro half Spaniard which is the french average. One Annecy result came out as 62% N.Atlantic + Baltic combined I believe (it's a city that I know well).

Haute-Savoie is Northern French genetically (Giemza thesis and article), Ain as well while Isère, Ardèche, Drome, most of Savoie, and the area of St-Etienne are in the Central French cluster. Lyon seems to be more Central French shifted as well. That's for Rhone Alpes.

Now I don't have any results from PACA or Languedoc unfortunately.

One sample from every place doesn´t implies absolutely nothing, and less even if you don´t know their exact origins of their grandparents at least.

Exactly. That's why samples from Southern Italy without even the location are like samples thrown in the middle of nowhere.

You would need also to know the exact ethnic background of all grandparents to have an accurate depiction.

Professional samples are better but often non-representative. However they are verified.
