I am a full Macedonian and I have a lot of Italian matches on both 23andMe and MyHeritage. On 23andMe the Italians come as second when it comes to my matches and most of them are Southern Italians.

By the way, what do you think about the looks of the Macedonians, is there some overlap with the Italians?

Its weird, every Macedonian face i see its like italian but little bit smoother i dont know how to explain , but seems Italians and Macedonians very similar i dont want to say same but my father easily pass like Tuscan or North Italy...I thinks from Balkans most similar to Italians are Macedonians, Greeks are very similar to south part of our country , more darker even like Cypriots i think they have North African and Middle Eastern admixture like Maltese people...

No, he/she is half Italian half Macedonian and I am full Macedonian whether you like it or not. That's how our ancestors felt, that's how I feel. It has nothing to do with ancients or anything. Btw, Vardar is a river that streams in Northern Macedonia from a part of the country that was known as Dardania in the ancient past, then flows to the South and enters a territory of North Macedonia that was known as Macedonia Secunda during the Roman period and finally enters Greece and what was known as Macedonia Prima and into the Aegean.
So naming us according a river rather than the territory is a pure stupidity but I don't expect anything else from you Greeks.

How do you know my ancestors, are you a long lost family member or something? :D

Personally, my ancestors felt Macedonian. As long as you are acting in a disrespectful way and treat us as if have amnesia or something and forgot how did our ancestors felt, we have nothing to speak of.

Now, other Macedonians might have had ancestors that identified as Bulgarians in the past and that is perfectly fine. I even had ancestors that identified as Greeks :bored:
The town they hail from, although in the borders of today North Macedonia, was heavily Grekophille in the past and most of the people were Greek patriarchists, and attending Greek schools. The Exarchists never got a strong foothold there.
You see, it's not everything black and white as you portrait it to be.
