I don't think so, some populations in Iberia have an African / North African component. That varies in percentages depending on the areas

Yeah, it seems like it's always claimed, but oftentimes they're just stories.

Yea a lot of those myths come from old genealogy books written by amateurs, a lot used to claim to be mulatto too now science has shown they are just mixed with Spanish, Jewish or other swarthy people XD. I used to read a lot of genealogy books from back in the day and have kinda followed some of the families that claimed Indian or Black ancestry, there are a few books that were more cautious and put forth the theory of non-African or Injun lineages being the most likely possibility.
