I was on the taxonomy board earlier trying to upload a JPEG file to attach to the post, but it said that I didn't have permission to do that. Could anybody help me out here?

I think you have to post like 15 posts and you should use imgur.com instead, easier to delete later after you make a bunch of enemies and gain a bunch of stalkers.
