Atlantid with a touch of Alpine. She's not really Atlanto-Med.

I would say Alpino-Mediterranean.

But I don't think that she is really a Provençal. What city did she come from ?

There's lot of people who look like this girl in our Provence, but generally they are Sicilians, Portuguese, Andalucians or Berber.

Exemple of Provençals girls (Queens of Arles)

Generally similar to Catalans. No surprise.

Yes, Provençals are very close from Catalans, Languedocians and Northern Italians :-)

Also Marseilles is special. Most of the people of Marseille, have Napolitans, Modern Greeks, French and Armenians roots.

Yes, I am agree. Generally, it's really hard to find people who are/feel/describe themselves as Provençals, except in some restricted area (isolated villages, "Provençals Highlands", and Also in Arle).

Most of people of Southern Provence (Marseilles) are from Italics roots (Liguria, Venetia, Naples, Sicily, Calabria, Corsica) and Greeks roots, mixed with reals ethnics Provençals. But there is also importants others ethnics groups (Catalans, Portugueses, Armenians, reals Berbers), and also lot of racially incorrects peoples (Niggers from Comores, Subsaharians, Arabs, Viets).

But I don't think that she is really a Provençal. What city did she come from ? She is from Draguignan. But she told me she has some Spanish ancestry. Her name is typically French (Ducel).

Hehe, vaqui ! "Ducel" isn't a Provençal name.

French Revolution and Jacobinism have made that people change regions/departements by obligations. For exemple, in Provence, we are invaded by the Picards and others Northerns peoples (who have another culture, another mentality, another accent, another blood and usually another language).

http://www.geopatronyme.com/ : in this site, "Ducel" sound not being a common name in Provence (from 1890 to 2010). Two of my names (who are Venetian and Campanian, Italy), are more commons in Provence (since 1850-90) than "Ducel".

And encore : she said that she have Spanish roots, but where from ? People generally talk of them as "Italians", "Spaniards" or "Frenchies", but there is a lot of differences between an Andalucian and a Galician/Asturian or between a Lombard and a Calabrese. Don't you know where (Region or City) she's from, in "Spain" ?

I wonder if the origin of this name is the same as Pasquale in Italian, Pascual in Spanish, which means "relating to Easter".

She doesn't look pure french to me, like she's entirely something else or french mixed with something else. I'm not saying she isn't french, just saying she doesn't look entirely french.

Provençals don't look French. We are absolutelly not like the Picards, the Normands, the Parisians or se Lorrains. We are a Southern European people. We are like the Italians or the Spanish. When strangers will understand that ?
