The Alans were a large group of nomadic tribes which were first mentioned far in the east in the 2nd century BC. in the Chinese Annals of the Han dynasty and in classical authors of the last century AD. as belonging to the barbarians neighbouring the north-eastern parts of the Roman Empire.

At the time when they first came in contact with the Romans, they had spread over the steppes to the North of the Black Sea, the Caspian and the Aral Seas. In those regions they were not only in close relation to the Scythians, Sarmatians, Aorsi or Roxolans, but they were also explicitly identified with some of these tribes by ancient authors.

From the point of view of solving these problems we found that the most interesting microregion was that of the Caucasian Mineral Waters or the Kislovodsk basin. Here the density of population from the fifth to sixth centuries rose rapidly because of an influx of Tanais Alans, who were attacked by the Huns, after they were forced out of the Volga region, in 372 AD., or because of migration of other Alan tribes from neighbouring territories.

DA161 is very Scythian-like with obvious Iranic ancestry (see the Baloch for ex) while the rest seem to be almost like modern North Caucasians, maybe with a little bit more European (at least compared to modern Ossetians).

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d0/ab/97/d0ab97a2596789155638fe0aabf6369a.jpg

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/65/d3/ff/65d3ff80e02a25c5db0321963efef4ca.jpg

In turn, we do not find evidence for substantial genetic contribution of Sarmatians to the 5th century Alans. Instead, we see that these north Caucasian Alans form a clade with the Iron Age Caucasian populations from Armenia with respect to the Sarmatians in a D-statistic.

I suspect my father to have Alan ancestry. Also to be z2124.

He constantly gets modelled as Azeri (primarily) + Iranian + Something North Caucasian (But I don't know where it comes from)
Some of these results would fit perfectly.

They got pushed into Caucasus by Mongols.

Saltovo-Mayaki or Saltovo-Majaki is the name given by archaeologists to the early medieval culture of the Pontic steppe region roughly between the Don and the Dnieper Rivers, flourishing roughly between the years of 700 and 950.

Their culture was a melting pot of Onogur, Khazar, Pecheneg, Magyar, Alan, and Slavic influences. During the ninth century the Saltovo-Mayaki culture was closely associated with the Khazar Khaganate, and archaeological sites from this period are one way that historians track the geographic scope of Khazar influence.

I divided the North Caucasus folks into four clusters viz. West, Central, East and North. West Caucasian folks are Circassians, and Abkhaz+Georgians serve as their best base. Central Caucasus is the most varied region and it includes the Turkic speaking Karachay-Balkars, Iranic speaking Ossetians and Vainakh speaking Chechen-Ingush; South Ossetians+Georgians serve as the best base for these people. I excluded the East and North clusters, 'cause the former (Dagestanis) have very high Steppe (Yamnaya) ancestry, and the latter (Kuban Nogais and Karanogays) Mongoloid ancestry. I nonetheless included the Kumyks - a Dagestani people of Turkic origin, and they'll be included under the Turkic label.

The second Male Alan test belonging to the Q haplogroup from 200 AD is the ancestor of two modern Chechens belonging to the Shonoy Teip. What do you mean "only 1 Karachay tested positive in whole Caucasus"?

The Karachay is tested positive for Q-L330, whereas those two Chechens are positive for Q-YP4055.

Yeah but i can't find a Karachay in that tree https://www.yfull.com/tree/Q-L330/ the only republics from the Russian Federation are Tatarstan, Pskov, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk and Orlovskaya, is the Karachay from one of those republics maybe? or maybe im misunderstanding ?
