Very likely genetically very close to the Dutch and other Germanic western Europeans. He was of Salian Frankish origins, and the Salian Franks, unlike their Rhineland counterparts, had their language preserved from the High German consonant shift in Germany which gradually had evolved into Dutch and it's respective dialects like Flemish and Afrikaner. Of course, the Dutch are genetically very closely related to other Germanic and the Insular Celtic peoples of Europe since they and their relatives came from the Bell Beaker culture of Central Europe.

Thanks. I cannot be more precise.
But soon you will have here a lot of speculations, not more clever than mine.

Just a small correction: Charlemagne was a Ripuarian Frank, not Salian. Plus, the Dutch are predominantly descended from Germanic invaders so not Bell Beaker for the most part.

I see. So, he was likely to have spoken Franconian German dialect, right? I mean, aren't Germanic peoples came from the Bell Beaker culture?

Yes for the first question. In Scandinavia there was only a small pocket of Bell Beaker people in Western Norway so no, Bell Beakers are likely not relevant for the Germanic ethnogenesis. It seems like Germanics developed mostly a as mixture of Battle-Axe and Danish Single Grave peoples for the most part, so closely related to Bell Beakers anyway.

Yeah, I mean, I saw the Bell Beaker's genetics affinity by using G25, and they have a strong genetic affinity with Germanic and Insular Celtic peoples so I thought that Germanic peoples must have come from the culture itself. Thanks for the clarification. You're far more knowledgeable on the history of the Germanic peoples than most people here really.
