If someone is textbook Atlantid (for example) morphologically but metrically on par with more robust type (Borreby for example) does it qualify him for Atlantid+CM classification or he is just robust Atlantid? Share your opinion. :)

I dunno, North-Atlantids are more likely to have significant CM admixture and Atlanto-mediterranean is not gracile like regular meds but rather more athletic and CM is of course robust etc..

Atlantid + CM sounds cooler than just Atlantid. So I will go with Atlantid + CM.

I forgot to add poll, does anyone know can I do that now and how to do it?

I think it does not occur because it's not possible someone classified as Atlantid to be metrically similar to Borreby (since one is is meso or doli and the last is brachy).
If you see well, the skulls and facial structure of those have different shapes (even though if measurements are somewhat similar).

Also, there are other details such as facial features (brow-ridge, nose, etc).

When I said metrically, I meant facial robustness: byzigomatic and lower jaw measurement (ofc I consider average measurements for every type measurements from antho books as The Races of Europe for example). :)

Since we can't know the subjects measurements for sure (we only guess from photos in most cases) there is some grey area here. In my assesments, if one looks morphologically textbook or very close to a single type, but I'm on the fence about their CM input, in that case I'll use the term robust.

Some times it can be just a difference in development:

In other words I tend to prioritize morphology over metrics because unless someone is heavily robust the metrics can be hard to tell for sure.

Take me, many put Borreby in my classification, but I think I may have a smallish head - 22.25 inches circumference measured just above my brow. I am Brachy though, with a CI around 82.

Ahahahahaha, I just measured my head circumference (only measurement I never did), my head circumference is 62cm or 24.4 inches. xD

Btwm I think your measurement is kinda average.

You have a big head, confirmed :)

Yeah, really my head size is probably near average.

Yeah, but you are also shorter and smaller than me, it would be ridiculous that someone who is 5ft9 and around 170-180 pounds I believe (correct me If I missed much) have same head proportions as someone who is 6ft2 and 230pounds (at this moment). :)

Ps. I didnt measure correctly, its 61cm or 24in, still bigger than average. :picard2:

100% agree. I know for sure my dad, who was exactly your size had a bigger head then me.

I'll measure my brother's head. He is 6'1.5, so he is tall, but only weighs 180 lbs. Should be interesting to see what measurement I get, also should be interesting how he responds when I tell him I wanna measure his head :picard1: it's okay though, he knows all too well I'm a little, um, eccentric.

Hehehe, I did it to my mom, she was laughing hard (I explained her complete ,,science"). :D

It matters to an extent but it depends upon what your basing the classification on. CM isn't a type. It's something people use when they're classifying someone who is robust but it doesn't really mean anything in my opinion. Lately I've noticed that someone is classified as being CM or CM and something else if they have good looking features (defined jaw, strong chin, protruded cheekbones, etc) or if they just have a big head.

A lot of the Cro-Magnon recreations look Mediterranean. The Cro-Magnon term itself is derived from a cave in Dordogne which is in Southern France. That population you could probably best describe as Mediterranean or Alpine-Mediterranean.

I didn't measure her head, I measured bizygomatic and lower jaw (14cm/5.5in and 10.8cm/4.25 which are averages/slightly above average for male Dinarids/other Med types xD).

Do you use a special caliper for that or something? I can check these measurements myself but I have to read up on how to do it properly.

I really had to work at (using the edges of books, a table, and the wall lol) getting my CI. I feel very confident the number I got is correct, but it weren't easy, lemme tell you.

Does robustness really matter?

dunno, I am short and thin but I'm usually classified as CM something, because of facial features. but usually if someone is bigger but his facial features are still rounded, not angular, they still don't get called CM, even if they're robust, as in big.

who's the robust guy on here (if you get them not to move their heads xD - you know, they're doing the move for the classification, so you can get the semi-profile too):

yeah I go with the bearded guy too.

You can measure it with two small and straight items (like cell phones) and one measurer. I used this:

I meant facial robustness, body has nothing with face. I know guy who is plain Pontid but he is 200cm and 120kg of muscles, extraordinary large man.

Tall people tend to have smaller heads, actually. In terms of head, what matters most is breadth.
Neanderthals and denisovans had the largest brains/skulls and they were short, it is cold adaptation.
Kim Jong Il was 1,60 and had the largest measured brain according to Grab theGauge( a very knowledgeable member)

Jack Ma is 1,61 (or even shorter)

They have large heads and small bodies, very bad combinations.

That is what makes then so smart, though.
However i could go on and show how taller people also have smaller bodies.

Well that's their problem. I wouldn't change my 188cm/6ft2. About small bodies you can see me here (since i am lazy to take pics now) so you judge is it small or not:
