It's not so surprising. I just checked the Romanian reference for K13 on GEDmatch and it's similar to the average of Wallachia, which I have made out of 75 samples.
Csangos score closer to the average of Moldavia, but with extra Atlantic, and I am not sure about Transylvania.

Great to finally see an unmixed Csángó result, given their unique history and isolation I am hugely surprised there was never really an academic research done on them with at least dozens of samples, or at least I am unaware of such. This individual shows close proximity with other Hungarians, since they are descendants of Medieval Hungarian settlers in Moldavia. The Moldavian territory was also part of Etelköz (first Hungarian state) between 840-900. More Hungarians have joined their earlier brethren beginning with the 13th century, as the kings II. András and IV. Béla intended to organize the outer Carpathian territories as buffer zone to Hungary for future Eastern invasions. They started to Christianize the local Cuman population, thus the establishment of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cumania (1228) in Milkó-Milcovul. In this period Hungarian settlers started to move here from Southern Transylvania which was offered by the Hungarian kings to Saxons. In 14th century more Hungarian settlers have left to the newly formed Moldavia to organize a military defense against the Tatar raids. Probable Etelköz remnants and more certainly 13th-14th century Hungarians from Transylvania have formed the bulk of people who later became the Csángós.

They mix with locals before 1820-1830.. after in the census these villages was “pure” csangos and with some occasional jew, gypsy or armenian.

Honestly we might never know what happened to the Magyar leftovers in Etelköz, maybe most assimilated in the next migratory waves, maybe only some have kept their Magyar language, maybe more than some, but according to newest archeological finds in Moldova and Ukraine, the Magyars have exercised their influence over Etelköz from their Carpathian Basin headquarters as late as 950, when Pechenegs managed to overrun the whole territory, and they were joined by Oghuz nomads. Towards the end of 11th century Cumans have conquered the whole Outer Carpathian territory leading from here numerous raids on the Hungarian Kingdom until the 13th century, when they finally recognized Hungarians suzerainty and became Christianized. After the Mongol invasion destroyed Cumania in the mid 13th century is when Hungary started to organize these territories as a defense against Tatar invaders. This was the time when next to Hungarian and Saxon settlers the Jász people also arrived here. In early 14th century Hungarian king designated a Vlach from Máramaros, Dragos to create Moldavia, who later was defeated by Bogdan and gained independence from Hungary.

I've created a triangle plot only considering the 3 main European components from Eurogenes K13 (North Atlantic, Baltic and West Med) and plotted the Csango in the OP together with my Csango friend and some friends and family (all highlighted in yellow) versus the standard K13 population averages.

in the second image I highlight the two Csangos and the Hutsul in yellow and their related populations in green. it's interesting to see these results around populations over which historians in the region are still debating whether they're this or that.

any thoughts around the method? for most people in the graph it adds-up to around and over 70% of their total K13 score
