I think she is Carpathid, with the Alpine element more predominant. I think there is a touch of Pontid there also. She is very short. She is considered above average pretty, especially in the table tennis world. Yes, she could pass as Romanian.

In Romania she's going to be identified as Hungarian by her looks, because of her slight Turanid mix is more common in Hungarians. Let's be clear about this: Turanid is rare in both Romanians and Hungarians, but the mixes with Turanid have rather specific looks in both populations.

Now, in my opinion, she's right in the middle between Hungarians and Romanians. She passes easily as Romanian and I bet Hungarians from Hungary think she looks more Romanian than Hungarian.

Like a mix of standard Romanian with local Transylvanian (in the video from 1:18). She mentions in the interview that she started to learn Romanian when she began to play table tennis. Despite that, her accent is closer to standard Romanian than mine. That's for sure xD

She sounds like she's having trouble finding certain words, but other than that she's fine. Perhaps she was just nervous. It's pretty clear that she speaks in Szekely dialect, maybe that's why she sounds a bit odd to you.
