I post Croats from different regions of Croatia and Bosnia. Have my opinion about these, but let's hear what other posters say first.

Ancestors of many of these people arrived from Herzegovina and Dalmatia after WW2 as colonists.

In Slavonia like in Vojvodina numbers of colonists from Dinaric regions after WW1 and WW2 (especially after WW2) is huge.

Many look Sebian to me honestly, though a minority has totally odd faces. They're lighter than Serbs, but nothing really drastic - compare with Slovene videos where every second guy has light hair.

Ancestors of many of these people arrived from Herzegovina and Dalmatia after WW2 as colonists.

In Slavonia like in Vojvodina numbers of colonists from Dinaric regions after WW1 and WW2 (especially after WW2) is huge.


Many look Sebian to me honestly, though a minority has totally odd faces. They're lighter than Serbs, but nothing really drastic - compare with Slovene videos where every second guy has light hair.

I think they are mixed from Magyars of nearby Baranja, have no other explanation. Stears would call these Alfoldi Neo-Cumans if I showed him their photos.

They're just more 'eastern' in appearance, that's why they're weird to you. Strangely, unlike most Croats from other regions there is actually a fair amount of Pontids among them, though mostly among the males.

Slavonians and Vojvodinians are heavy Alpinid, somethimes they have pseudo Turkic appearance.

Look at these Slavonian Serbs. Even Dinarid influenced have small eyes and specific vibe, they look noticeable different than Serbs from Dinaric regions.

I just hope to get Slavonian samples to make nice and well-representative regional average in the future.
Our regional sub-clusters haven't been studied, but that's the case for every country in eastern Europe.

What we need, is fine-scale study like Irish DNA atlas or genetic studies of British Isles they're doing.

Not true, he dated Serb (very pretty) in Karlovac.
He just don't like the Vlach type on women which is lot more common in Serbs, particulary Montenegro.

First time I really saw a bunch of Croats in person was last year when we were on school trip in Italy. They were from some technical high school from Zagreb, we stayed in the same Hotel. And in my opinion they can't be compared to Serb girls, idk I probably like wogish looking girls more but there wasn't a single girl I saw that that I immediately found attractive.

On the other hand, i must say that Croats were much more disciplined than us, like much much more. Also very friendly and cool bunch. And it's true that you are much lighter than us on averege. But when it comes to looks, again Serb girls are better looking imo. But that stuff is subjective anyway so it doesn't really matter.
