Alpinid is one of the CM/UP types, along with Faelid, Bruenn, Borreby, West and East Baltid.

Yeah, his head is almost spherical. I'm wondering if he might just be an incredibly robust Alpinid.

That's certainly my impression of this feller'.
Wiki has him born in Dax, France:

Is he Basque, perhaps? He reminds me of a guy I know from the Basque area of northern Spain, just a wee bit south of Dax. Classic southwestern refuge type.
Imagine this dude barreling along right toward you at full speed:

Alpinid, yes: I agree; with a secondary Med. influence.
"Robusticity" is a rather tricky concept: Most people, in the modern world (and this has not escaped 19th and early 20th century anthropology) are sedentary.
As I have noted elsewhere (take it or leave it), a Corded Nordid in a weight room fed two pounds of steak per day will appear 'Robust'.
The concept of "Robusticity" only makes sense when comparing two individuals of the same activity level. - and yes, this is a difficult (I suppose) thing to do whilst performing "internet Anthro."
