“The sorcerers of these Thracian tribes were known to have burned female cannabis flowers (and other psychoactive plants) as a mystical incense to induce trances. Their special talents were attributed to the "magical heat" produced from burning the cannabis and other herbs, believing that the plants dissolved in the flames, then reassembled themselves inside the person who inhaled the vapors.“

Like Scythians, thracians smoked hella weed.

Not sure but it looks like some variant of Taurid.

The Scythians were smoking that Moldovan Gold strain. Real sticky, hairy, big buds.

If the memory serves me right according to Herodotus, ancient Thracians and Phrygians had a kinship with Armenians.

I read that too but its a theory no actual facts backing it up, we don’t really even know if Phrygians and Thracians were closely related let alone Armenians. Culturally though Thracians have lots of customs in common with Scythians even before their direct influence on them. They were both mound builders, horse warrior culture, and had similar dress and certain artifacts. Thraco-Dacian gods are also pure Indo-European in origin, Zalmoxis sky god and horse warrior hero, which is weird because genetically Indo-Europeans didn’t have such a high Genetic impact on this region.

Well in ancient history everything is a theory, and everyone just believes what he likes more. :)

As for Indo-European "horse warrior culture", there is no any other region of the world that have so many artifacts of this culture been found as during excavations in Armenia. :thumb001:

Are you really that naive?! Genetics (like f.e. history) is a prostitute science.

If necessary, genetics will prove that the polar Eskimos are twin brothers of equatorial African pygmies.

Yes there was that too but I was speaking mainly of the Bronze Age samples that have been found so far

The R1a in that Bronze Age Bulgaria was different from the Slavic, it was a subclade found among Indo-Iranians I believe or something and today in the Balkans is almost non-existant. Same thing for the I2a2. Maybe Thracians also carried some type of R1b or J2b. But they had other haplos such as J2a, T1 and others I am pretty sure.

EV-13 of course too.

Greeks are mix of all Byzantine populace that includes Armenians, Bulgarians etc... just because someone says he is a Greek doesn't mean he is Mycenean Greek.

It's possible the statue was made by a Greek artist, but the king was Thracian. In that period Thracians has significant Greek cultural influence.

Nope you are just retarded. Thracians weren't Greek you doofus. There is literally nothing Greek about Seutus iii, he looks Bulgarian. Deal with it.

GerudoValley

Sure there were Greeks living in Thrace

That's is completely unrelated with everything. You stole a region for Thracians and named it accordingly. Thracians didn't speak Greek nor were genetically Mediterranean gypsies but Dinaric warriors with high ie input. I can't believe you are that retarded.
