Not sure how accurate it is.. the Northwestern european seems a little high

Yeah, I'm thinking about paying for the service but for right now I did not get a regional breakdown it just says I'm Irish, English and Scottish or British isles as I basically already knew. I'm actually 75% British isles and 25% German from Alsace-Lorraine but the German/French probably just goes into the English admixture which I am fine with. This seems more accurate for me than any other test. I think this test is fine tuned for British isles people even though they present it for people of all backgrounds.

Yeah it's not very extensive. Since I am half hispanic that's probably why my results are all over the plaace.

Living DNA is total BS as far as I am concerned, they can't tell Scottish and Irish apart and they have only given me one Scottish region with a much lower percentage than it should be. And Cumbria I could maybe understand as I have ancestry from just over the border in SW Scotland but I have no Welsh, Yorkshire or Cornish ancestry.

I actually bought their kit when they first launched a couple of years ago. Apart from Scotland/Ireland and Mordovian, results are pretty consistent with my paper trail.

67.9% European, 30.8% Near East and 1.3% Africa apparently.

No subdivision within that. I kind of like that format though - the 23andme Ashkenazi = European isn't very descriptive so it's interesting to get a bit more of a breakdown.

Metal has about 16% Melanesian ancestry, so our kids will have 8% or so of that. My mother used to score 0.3% Siberian but now it’s broadly Northern Asian, unfortunately it doesn’t show on my report :(

Free uploads don't have the subdivisions - unless you pay for the upgrade.

Think I'll give livingDNA a miss. The only company that I'm confident is going down the correct track in terms of isolating ancestry within the British Isles is AncestryDNA which is more in connection with it's huge Family Tree database.

It's the most accurate test for me. Only thing that's wrong is that I have no Southern English ancestry, the English regions should be fewer and sub-categories under one English category.

My father gets Western Spain and Italy which matches another result from 23andMe; quneu 23 says he has no data to place him regionally. Well, it seems that there must be an Italian ancestor, I don't know who it might be. From the map it must be someone who in turn must have come from the Romans.
