They are phenotypically closer to whatever makes you more happy.

I expect people by now to know to who they are closest pheno and genotypically and if these kind of threads are started they usually have other agendas behind it.

And if this is really a genuine question, the answer is, Turkey, Caucasus and Mesopotamia. Outside of that to Afghans and Levantines.

Between Turkey and Afghanistan imo

Southern regions maybe have some stronger Arabic and Indian influence

It depends on where you are from
Caspian Iranians are heavily mixed with Georgians, Circassians and Armenians since 17th century so they are heavy Caucasus shifted
Gulf Iranians are mixed with Arabs and Indians since like 1000 BC because of Trade route
Minorities like Azeris (Turk shifted) and others have their own genetic affiliations
For the average Persian (Central Iranian) I think they are similar to Turks minus the Turkic (east asian) and European (Greek or whatever) but its hard to say, because we have our own genetic category (South Central Asian/Gedrosia)

Here is my dodecad k12b (1/2 Persian 1/2 Gulf Persian) you can see my obvious Semitic shift

True but I wouldn't call it Arabic admixture rather Semitic. South/Southwest Iranians have a little higher Levant_Neo type of admixture. The biggest outliers are some on the coastline living coastle Iranians who have some Indian, African, Arab traider admixture. And as a ethnic people the most divergent would be the Baluch in the South/Southeast of the country, who seem to be genetically more similar to their Balochi counterparts in Pakistan and to Afghans/Pashtuns.

For Iranians, it's first and foremost Caucasus, Anatolia, Mesopotamia. And than Afghan and Levant.
