Can you tell these Polish and German ladys apart? All of them are German by nationality, but only half of them (4) by ethnicity. The rest has Polish roots. I cherrypicked a bit to make it harder.

Keep quiet if you know them.

Surprisingly not that easy to differentiate them, since some of them could go either way, but these are my guesses:
Polish: 1,3,5,8

aynora

Polish 1,3,5,7,8

Only 4 of them are Polish.

Then I'd say 8 is German, rest stays.

if nr. 5 is German, than this game makes no sense. Nr. 2 i also think he looks more Polish, at least Kurganoid influenced people are common in Poland, Nr. 3 and 7 also rather Polish looking to me, but i would not be shocked if its otherwise.
non of those women look extremly German or Germanic to me, so the German examples can pass better in Poland than in Norway/Sweden, makes also sense since a lot of immigration etc.

I know that these people aren't very German looking but as I said I cherrypicked. Otherwise it would've been too easy.

They were extremely cherrypicked then and impossible to guess. I think samples should represent more typical looks since its easier to guess. Are we sure that 4 is fully Polish, she looks extremely German(ic).

Being German is literally possesing the citizenship, a lot people in Germany will have ancestry from out of Germany, even if its 2-3 generations behind.

Yes, they are cherrypicked but I already mentioned it! I just wanted to make it a bit harder. Yes, she's fully Polish. When I saw her for the first time I knew that she can't be German, she looks very Slavic to me.

Majority still has german ancestry, so there are enough people to choose from. The examples in this thread dont represent typical German look which exists.

of course you can choose better examples- but the reason for many people doing this game is not chosing typical examples, but rather overlapp examples, which Aynora did very well.
Everybody on anthrofroums thinks Germans look like Oliver Kahn (who himself has some Baltic roots), therefor its actually refreshing to cut out stereotypes. The same can be said for Polish, imo Polish and Germans can overlapp therefor it makes sense that the game was hard.

Yes, I won't deny that I cherrypicked (as I've mentioned several times) but just imagine I choose very normal Germans and then these Poles. Everybody (or at least the majority) would've guessed right and it would've been boring. In case of German or Dutch I wouldn't have to cherrypick so much because Germans overlapp way more with Dutch people than with Polish people.

I was only wrong by one. Ive lived and spent significant time in different countries and places, if you have a keen eye you start to notice the differences. Something that sounds ridiculous but ive noticed is a difference in skin texture between eastern and western euros. Western Euros seem to have almost thicker skin, literally it looks a bit thicker while eastern euros have more paper thin looking skin, not quite as extreme as asians but going in that direction. western european women are also not as soft looking and are just bigger boned. it was an interesting game.

The differences between Poles and Germans are big and I always notice them when I cross the border (and people from Eastern Germany are already much, much closer than let's say Bavarians or Germans from Bremen let's say) but I just meant this particular game where I was off. I've never noticed though that skin thickness factor, but I will now attention to it (pretty autistic thing would that be I guess). But it's like we are made from a different clay.
