Yes atypically, maybe as a Northern Cushitic like Ethiopian/Eritrean. Where is he from?

its interesting. this is an image from when he was younger. with hair he looks like a typical indian. When he goes bald, he looks ambiguous haha. I wonder if many darker toned indians can look pseudo SSA if they shave their facial hair and go bald lol.

interesting are those kind of indians treated badly ? I mean are they automatically part of the lowest castes ?

Maybe not a Central or South African, but there are some groups I think he can pass as partly black especially here in the US

yeah darker toned indians are definitely treated worse. and in movies they usually get villain or comedy roles as well rather than as a protagonist but its definitely improving. especially in southern india where there are a decent number of darker leads these days.

no there are many darker upper/middle castes and several lighter lower castes. but yes on average his look would be found more among lower castes than higher.

could he pass as an afro iranian in coastal iran?

I belong to Reddy caste, which is like an upper-mid caste. Its the second highest on the hierarchy after brahmins in south india.

Yes and no

1. As a full Afro-Iranian, not really, mostly because of the nose
2. As as a high% Iranian Afro-Iranian, maybe. He has similar to features to people like that but he is too dark. Good example is Saeid Shanbehzadeh

Sorry with all of my questions but I'm really curious about this caste system Will your parents accept if you marry someone from a lower caste ? and do lower classes have to respect you automatically ? What kind of rights do you have more than them ?

Well, here in Brazil they would call him " negão".

Zeus

actually I think he could, but he has an exotic look from most SSA Americans that I've seen that would make him a bit of an outlier.

no problem at all. glad you're curious actually.

since i grew up in the US, my parents do not care about caste that much. However, my grandparents back home from both sides would definitely be bothered, regardless if she's of a higher or lower caste than me. My parents want me to marry an indian girl though thats for sure. they dont care about caste though.

no they dont have to respect me but yeah they do respect my grandparents in the rural areas. Its fucked up though I visited my dad's village last year in india and i said hello by bowing hands together to an elderly lower caste person in front of my grandparents and uncles and they made a huge issue out of it. they called up my dad back here in the US asking 'what the fuck are you teaching your kids, why is he greeting a lower caste person' lol. it was a weird experience. In urban areas though, they dont give a shit about castes thankfully.

well constitutionally nothing more. if anything the lower castes have more benefits similar to affirmative action in western countries in terms of education, government quotas, stipends, etc. Caste system is more prominent in rural areas but in urban areas, all castes mingle with each other quite well.

most issues surrounding castes are around marriage so this exists in the urban areas too. However there's no other forms of discrimination regarding castes socially in urban areas.

I've heard about some castes being "untouchable" is that true or it's just a name ?

yes they are called 'Dalits' or 'achoot' which literally translates to 'untouchable'. They were manual laborers traditionally and did the most menial jobs historically. Basically caste system was originally based on occupation. Many still uphold their traditional roles according to castes especially in rural areas, but its definitely improved in urban areas. many lower castes are doing fairly well in urban areas.

Here's the income breakdown by caste. SC is dalits/untouchables. ST are tribals who re not really part of the caste system. they're just tribal groups who are different from untouchables.

OBC are mid-lower castes, but not at dalit level.

Rajput, bania, kayasth, other forward castes are all upper-midcastes.

most north africans have very low amount of ssa and most of them aren't even aware of it. they also look completely different and north africans have a long history linked with slavery : black people have always been slaves in NA and viewed as such (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haratin)

that's the first thing french saw when they arrived in Marrakech :

I could tell he was a Tamil. I've known a couple, that are like that, looks-wise.
The smaller eyes, the bigger nose and thinner lips are most indicative, imo.

I'm not certain but, I think skull sizes are bigger too?

Many griffes in the Caribbean have similar phenotypes. But they're not fully SSA but pred. So yes I guess.
