I don't personally find that darker Brits/Irish pass as Iberian. This seems to be just a default opinion i.e darker Brits/Iberian. Someone like Andrea Corr doesn't look Iberian to me but I guess simplistic dark hair and eyes Iberian. Brits/Irish are less closer to the Iberian peninsula than Germans but people will reinforce this British/Iberian connection. People need to move on.

I mean what's so Iberian about Andrea Corr other than denoting dark hair and eyes as solely an Iberian attribute. :)

But generally I agree with you. Apart from that, they are very different.

Britain has much more Anglo-Saxon/Nordic/Keltic types, while Iberia on the other side has a lot of Gracile-Med/Berid people who would look alien to Britain.

The question was only if he looks more Danish or Iberian. Plus I would not see Rowan as a typical example for darker Brits , so that relatives this discussion on many levels

Genetic distances mean something. They are not exactly close in a European context. In fact I'm closer to Ukrainians than Spaniards. So much for this Atlantid/Atlantid Med. Not many Brits are Atlantid Med by the way. Just goes to show what a crock of shit anthropology is with placing European origins. Irish for example are one of the most Bell Beaker populations in Europe which explains why they are closer genetically to populations like the Czech over Spanish people Anyway anyone that has a smidgen of genetics knows that being darker doesn't mean anything genetically. Populations cluster with their countrymen which kind of shows that anthropology should be left in the 19th century. Dark Brits are not any different than their red haired or blond compatriots genetically. They aren't anymore Mediterranean. I would think people would get with this century. So no they aren't a remnant Mediterranean population but you can be a completely Northern European genetically and have brown eyes and dark hair.

There are way swarthier and more atypical people than Rowan Atkinson.

Of course and here are certain darker types that are indigenous, the Romans noted the swarthy look of the silures tribe in south wales. Point was that largish countries (relative to europe at least) with imperial pasts show a lot more diverse looks which pop up now and again. The romans also had some input, however small
