I'm looking for a Piedmontese gedmatch kit to get an idea!

I am looking for some, because i want to know how Jean-Paul Belmondo, who is 25% Piedmontese, 25% Sicilian and 50% French, would be modeled, to know if his Piedmontese intake would readjust (into a north shifted) his Sicilian intake.

I'd like to see them too. It's a shame they are so underrepresented despite the region being quite large and economically important.

True. I haven't found any that are totally Piedmontese. I would like to know if they are SouthEastern French shifted.

I'm not interested in Gedmatch anymore but I created a K15 average for Cuneo (n=6), seem overall very similar to Aostans:

Italian_Cuneo,24.17,24.00,8.28,3.53,19.88,5.33,12. 00,1.71,0.51,0.03,0,0.30,0.16,0.07,0.04

Other areas of Piedmont, especially Alessandria should be closer to Lombardy or Liguria; so it really depends where in Piedmont Jean's family is from.

You can also check this blog post with average for the whole region:

You are fully piemontese, right? Send me your K13 et 15 results.

I'm half NE Italian.

I'll send you few kits still up that I used for that Cuneo average - hang on

This is the K13 average?

Already, the Sardinians do not have 22 est-med on average, it is quite heterogeneous at this level, like the North Italians: between 15 and 25%, like the North Italians (no difference at this level). In general, the Sardinians from the center and the north have a low rate of red sea (very isolated in the central area), some Sardinians from the south too (it depends on the village too). It's the same for northern Italians.

I think I got my answer: it all depends on the village in Piedmont, some clusters differently depending on where the person comes from. Not very homogeneous, sadly.

I would make an "estimation", Piedmontese + Sicilian = Central Italian (more or less), Central Italian + French, Northern Italian/Iberian range, IMO.

I've found from where his piedmontese ancestor is : Borgo San Dalmazzo (Southern Piedmonte, near Alps), his sicilian ancestry is from Cefalu, Palermo.

Here his french genealogy : https://gw.geneanet.org/garric?lang=en&n=rainaud+richard&oc=0&p=sarah+madeleine

His french ancestry seems to be from Central/Southern France and maybe some Northern French, don't know, his grandfather had a surname found in Central/Southern France and his grandmother had a surname found all over France but more present in the South and in the NE area.

Very bad spreadsheet IMO, especially for Southern regions it's awful, the separation "Western Sicily" and "Eastern Sicily" doesn't make any sense for example.

Well, not that I am an expert on Italy or France but I think it's pretty clear that even Northern Italy is still a fairly Southern region. Of course not as Southern as Sicily or Calabria but not like Germany or even much of France either. 15-20% East Med and 2-3% Red Sea seem to be the norm even in Piedmont and Lombardy.

That guy is a staunch ethnonationalist, why would he misrepresent his people? He boasts about being 100% North Italian.

I've only said that's a bad spreadsheet, and I'm pretty much sure that for some regions (especially some Southern or Central regions) he used very few samples (not possible otherwise).

Separating Sicily on a West/East basis makes absolutely no sense btw. I would say Calabria Citra/Calabria Ultra as well, it's much more complex than that (Crotone isn't the same as Catanzaro or Reggio Calabria...).
