How can we definitively know our ethnicity through our DNA test?

after doing the dna test and then looking at the different results of each gedmatch calculator, I don't know what really indicates my ethnicity and what I should trust more

DNA tests really only go back about 300 yrs or so. Some say even 500... but idk about that. That is rlly about it. Match that with your paternal haplo and you can kinda draw where your lineage comes from. Works well for mine as both my paternal and maternal are very common Atlantic Iberian ones so I can kind of predict my lineage is truly from that area. Now... the big "if" is the in-between into the modern day autosomal DNA. It is hard to gauge at this time in genetic studying how much of what you are through your entire ancestral line. Maybe in the future, we will be able to get our whole ancestral past put into percentages.
