We don't know what Hernan Cortés really looked like. There are some paintings of him but we don't know whether they are accurate or not.
He probably looked much more Mediterranean than this. He didn't look like a Visigoth or something like that.

Some paintings show high Cacausus Alan like appearance from Byzantine kingdom. He might have had some local Neolithic mix and Greco-Roman Med mix but it doesn't show up on diagrams

Cortes like many other "famous" Conquistadors (Pizarro brothers, Núñez de Balboa, Francisco de Orellana, Pedro de Valdivia etc) was born in Extremadura in the 15th century. We know since Olalde 2019 study that in the 15th century, people living in Southern Spain still had high North African admixture ("by the Roman period, southern Iberia had experienced a major influx of North African ancestry", Olalde 2019), much more than nowadays (still around 10% in Extremadura and among the highest in Spain nevertherless) due to repopulation from the north that occured later. So Cortes and other Conquistadors from Extremadura all very likely looked like modern Canarians (https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?324184-Canary-Islands-genetic-study-by-Guillen-Guio-et-al-2018) (like those from La Gomera I guess).

Cortes and Pizarro were both born in Extremadura in the 15th century. His son Martin Cortes shows up Caucasian appearance distinctly. None of the pictures show any North Africa like features.

Martín Cortés was a mestizo so he could not look Caucasian… that gives you an idea of how accurate these paintings are…

Those ancient drawings probably highlight the best features. This might be the son Don Martin Cortes which might not have that big native blood

Cortés is my third last name

As far as I know it is an Aragonese surname that also emigrates to Andalusia and Extremadura.

Yes, we know how Cortés looked since he Was descripted by the Spanish cronichlers, who were his soldiers and friends in the conquest of America, the most important of them being Bernal Díaz del Castillo.

Lol at claiming he looks Visigoth in these pictures of above

That map means nothing since the ancestors of Cortés arrived to Extremadura (the Spanish region where Cortes was from) many centuries later than when Alans ruled that territory.

In any case I doubt Alans left any genetic print and also Cortés looked nothing like them.

Didn't Cortés paternal line originally come from Asturias?

But when the Umayyad took over those parts of Spain, survivors went back to areas closer to the Goth & Iberocelts. So even you can't be that precise. I was just saying based on some pictures he looked having big Alan background

I Dont understand what you mean. Cortés ancestors were from Asturias, they settled in Extremadura at the end of the 1300s.

Again Cortés looked nothin Alan but fully Spanish. What strange... what he was
